Junior Jiu Jitsu, Bullyproofing and Self-Defence

Our number one focus at IronVikings Martial Arts is our children’s coaching program.

“Bullying is very difficult for children, or anyone, to deal with. It makes children feel afraid and degraded and often it makes them feel like they are worthless.

Unfortunately, bullying also makes them stop wanting to go out because they are scared, they might see the person bullying them. Many children who are bullied even start asking themselves if they can do anything right?”

Bullying is a reality, and it takes place in the most formal of environments such as schools to family life where an older sibling might try to control a younger child. Bullying is not just physical, but it breaks down a child’s confidence, mental abilities and standing in society.

Our mission is to provide the tools to enable individuals to protect themselves and grow in confidence and in life.

All of our coaches have been verified through the HURU police clearance certification process.

How do we do this?

We aim to provide your child with the understanding of BJJ through play. The aim of each class is to teach children the basics of a complex art form.

It isn’t all just play, and children will be expected to do formal exercise and drilling to gain the required muscle memory for self-defence. Here are a couple of examples of play we do to achieve what we would like to achieve with every child:

Your child will benefit from BJJ in the following manner:

  1. Self-discipline
  2. Self defence
  3. Confidence.
  4. Social skills
  5. Fitness and balanced muscular development.
  6. Muscle memory and motor skills.

We understand that close contact is not for everybody but, we are also confident that you will think differently once 4 weeks are over and maybe you might consider the full 16-week programme.
